Mike Tyrrell (Deryck Michael)
BD, MA, Ph.D., AICS, ACA.

Mike was a passionate and enthusiastic supporter of the principles of ethical investment. His financial experience, gained in a variety of roles both in the business and voluntary sectors, gave him the authority and standing of Someone Who Knows What He Is Talking About. His sense of justice and ethics were shaped in no small part by his Christian faith, as well as his various voluntary commitments.

Mike would constantly challenge the way CEIG operates. It was this attitude of "we can always do things better" that led to the formation of the CEIG website, our gateway to the wider world. He was always looking for new avenues to explore, as demonstrated by the numerous seminars and conferences that he either attended or delivered.

Mike collected a large amount of material on ethical investment. That which we have on paper or on disk can truly be described as "encyclopedic". There was so much more that was not recorded on paper!

CEIG is indebted to Mike for his Chairmanship and all he has done to promote the cause of ethical investment, and his death represents a great loss to the Group. CEIG will continue forward, keeping in mind the example that Mike has set, and building on the excellent foundations that he helped to lay.
